What Are Rankings and How Do They Work?
Rankings are live, data-driven lists of instruments ordered by proprietary performance metrics.
Instead of opening chart after chart, you can instantly see which assets are
trending, gaining momentum, or showing unusual volatility — all in a single dashboard.
Our ranking engine calculates scores using multiple factors:
- TrendST Score — A composite momentum indicator that aggregates signals across 6 timeframes (5m, 15m, 1h, 4h, 1d, 1w). Positive scores indicate bullish momentum; negative scores indicate bearish pressure.
- Frog Value (Volatility) — Measures relative volatility against the instrument's own history. High frog values signal breakout conditions; low values suggest consolidation.
- Average Distance — Tracks how far the current price has moved from its average, helping identify overextended or mean-reverting setups.
- Breakout Detection — Flags instruments breaking through key support/resistance levels in real time.
Data is refreshed continuously — the rankings update with every new candle close, ensuring you never miss a shift in momentum.
Why Traders Need Real-Time Rankings
Most retail traders spend the majority of their screen time on the wrong activity: manually scanning charts one by one, looking for setups that may not exist. Rankings flip this approach entirely.
- Efficiency — A 30-second scan of rankings replaces hours of manual chart watching. The strongest movers surface automatically.
- Opportunity Discovery — Rankings reveal moves you'd never find manually. When DYDXUSDT suddenly jumps to #1 with a TrendST score of +1,200, that's a signal worth investigating.
- Focus & Discipline — Instead of chasing random charts, you direct attention to assets where data confirms meaningful activity is happening.
- Multi-Timeframe Confirmation — Our rankings score across 6 timeframes simultaneously. When an asset ranks high on daily AND weekly timeframes, the signal quality is significantly higher.
- Risk Avoidance — Equally important: rankings show you what to avoid. Low-ranked, low-volatility instruments aren't worth your time or capital.
Two Ranking Systems, Two Markets
FXCryptoBots offers two complementary ranking dashboards, each covering a different market:
Binance Futures Rankings (BF Explorer)
Covers 2,119 USDT perpetual futures pairs on Binance — the world's largest crypto derivatives exchange.
Every symbol gets scored, ranked, and displayed with color-coded momentum indicators.
- Real-time TrendST momentum scores across 6 timeframes
- Frog value volatility heat mapping
- Top gainers, top losers, highest volatility filters
- Premium users get full access to all 2,119 pairs; free users see top 10
Tickmill FX & Crypto Rankings (TM Explorer)
Covers 100+ instruments including major/minor/exotic FX pairs, precious metals (XAUUSD, XAGUSD), indices (NASDAQ, S&P 500), and crypto CFDs.
- Same TrendST scoring methodology adapted for traditional markets
- Gold and silver momentum tracking (pairs with XAU Sentinel analysis)
- Forex pair strength comparison across timeframes
- Ideal for multi-asset traders who trade both crypto and traditional markets
How to Read and Interpret Rankings
Understanding rankings requires more than just looking at the top of the list. Here's how professional traders extract maximum value:
- Extreme scores matter most — A TrendST score above +500 or below -500 indicates strong directional momentum. Scores near zero suggest indecision.
- Look for multi-timeframe alignment — When an asset ranks high on both 4h and 1d timeframes, the trend has conviction. Single-timeframe spikes can be noise.
- Watch for divergences — If price is rising but the TrendST ranking is falling, momentum is fading — a potential reversal signal.
- Use rankings as a filter, not a signal — Rankings tell you where to look; your entry/exit strategy should come from your own analysis of that asset.
- Check rankings at key times — Market opens (London, New York), data releases, and major news events create the most ranking movement.
Pro Tip: The best traders don't watch every chart — they let rankings surface the action. Check BF Explorer for crypto momentum and Tickmill rankings for FX & metals. A 30-second scan replaces hours of manual chart review, letting you focus on the highest-probability setups.
Practical Use Cases
Here's how different types of traders use our rankings daily:
Crypto momentum trader: Opens BF Explorer
each morning, sorts by TrendST score on the 4h timeframe, identifies the top 5 strongest
and top 5 weakest symbols. Goes long on the strongest if they're also bullish on the daily;
shorts the weakest if daily confirms bearish.
Gold/FX trader: Uses Tickmill Rankings
to compare XAUUSD momentum against major pairs. When gold ranks #1 with the highest frog value
and TrendST score, it signals a strong trend day worth trading aggressively.
Multi-asset allocator: Scans both ranking systems every evening, identifies
which market (crypto vs. traditional) has more momentum, and allocates the next day's attention
and capital accordingly. Let the data decide where to focus.
Risk manager: Before placing any trade, checks the target instrument's
frog value (volatility). High frog = wider stops needed. Low frog = tighter stops possible.
This simple check prevents the most common sizing mistake in trading.
Rankings vs. Other Screeners
Many trading platforms offer basic screeners, but our rankings are different in several key ways:
- Multi-timeframe scoring — Most screeners show a single snapshot. Our TrendST scores aggregate 6 timeframes into one composite view.
- Continuous updates — Not delayed data or end-of-day snapshots. Rankings update with every candle close.
- Proprietary metrics — TrendST, frog value, and average distance are unique to FXCryptoBots. You won't find these on TradingView or Coinglass.
- Two markets, one methodology — Apply the same analytical framework across crypto futures and traditional FX/metals.
- Free tier available — See top 10 rankings for free. Premium unlocks all 2,119+ instruments.
Getting Started with Rankings
Ready to stop guessing and start trading with data? Here's your action plan:
- Pick your market — Crypto? Start with BF Explorer. FX/Metals? Start with Tickmill Rankings.
- Choose your timeframe — Day traders: focus on 1h and 4h rankings. Swing traders: prioritize 1d and 1w.
- Build a daily routine — Check rankings at the same time each day. Consistency compounds your edge.
- Combine with other tools — Use rankings to find the asset, then check XAU Sentinel for gold sentiment or CryptoGems for Solana token safety before executing.
